1. HouseRoster
HouseRoster (“we”, “us” or “the app”) is operated by HouseApps Limited, a private limited company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales with company number 17243528, and with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, contactable at [email protected]. HouseRoster is a mobile app for organising household work schedules - a host creates a household, invites staff or helpers, creates and manages shifts, messages connected people, sends and receives notifications, and manages a subscription. By creating an account or accepting an invitation, the user (“you”) agrees to the following terms as may be amended by us from time to time (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy which has been provided to you separately. HouseRoster is available to users worldwide except in the EU/EEA, where we do not currently offer the app or operate.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use HouseRoster, and old enough to legally enter a binding agreement where you live. The app is intended for organising household work and is not directed at children under 16.
3. Your account and security
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Do not share your login. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity under your account, except to the extent we cause it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use HouseRoster to:
- break the law or facilitate criminal activity;
- harass, bully, threaten, defame, or impersonate anyone;
- infringe anyone's rights or privacy, or post content you do not have the right to share;
- knowingly post false or misleading information;
- post violent, hateful, sexually explicit, or discriminatory content (including on the basis of race, nationality, religion, sex, disability, or similar);
- encourage self-harm, suicide, or illegal drug use;
- send spam or mass unsolicited messages, or run multi-level-marketing / pyramid schemes;
- place an excessive load on, gain unauthorised access to, probe, scrape, or interfere with our systems or security; or
- do anything else we reasonably consider similar to the above.
We may remove content, suspend, or close accounts that breach these Terms where appropriate without prior notice to you.
5. Inviting people, and your responsibility for their information
HouseRoster lets you invite others and enter details about them (such as a name and email) to connect and schedule together. If you invite someone or enter information about them, you confirm you have a proper reason to share that information with us for this purpose and that the information is accurate. You are responsible for how you use other people's information in the app, and for any obligations you have towards the people you schedule or interact with on the app (for example as an employer).
6. Messaging
HouseRoster includes messaging between connected users, which must follow Section 4 of these Terms. We do not actively monitor messages, but we may review reported content and act on it. You can block users and report conversations in the app.
7. Subscriptions, billing, renewals, cancellation, refunds
HouseRoster has a free tier and a paid premium subscription (“Premium”) that unlocks additional features and higher limits in the app. Current features and limits are shown in the app and may change, with reasonable notice of material reductions to paid features.
- Billing. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we use RevenueCat to manage entitlements. Prices are shown before purchase.
- Renewal. Premium renews automatically through your Apple or Google account until cancelled.
- Cancellation. You may cancel Premium at anytime in your App Store or Google Play settings; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies – we do not offer separate refunds and cannot issue store refunds directly.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription – you must cancel Premium in the App Store or Google Play to stop future charges.
8. Account deletion
Request deletion in the app (Settings → Delete account). After you confirm, your account is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 14-day grace period, during which your account keeps working and you can cancel the request. After the grace period, your account and personal data are permanently deleted, except records we are required or permitted to keep (see the Privacy Policy). See Section 7 about subscriptions.
9. Service availability
We work to keep HouseRoster reliable, but provide it “as is” and cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, perform maintenance, or be prevented from providing the service by events outside our reasonable control (e.g. power, network, or third-party platform failures, or force majeure). We do not guarantee that content will not be lost or deleted and we have no obligation to back up your content – please keep your own copies (you can export your data anytime).
10. Intellectual property
HouseRoster – its name, logo, design, and software – belongs to HouseApps Limited and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You keep ownership of the content you create (your shifts, messages, and details); you grant us the permission needed to host, operate, and maintain the service for you.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HouseRoster is provided without warranties of any kind. We, HouseApps Limited, its and our directors, employees and officers, shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including but not limited to any lost data or profits arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of the app.
To the maximum permitted by law, the total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us for the use of the app during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
12. Your responsibility (indemnity)
If your breach of these Terms or misuse of the app causes us, HouseApps Limited or a third party loss, damage, or cost (including reasonable legal costs and expenses), you agree to be responsible for it, except to the extent it results from our own fault. You agree to indemnify us, HouseApps Limited, its and our directors, employees and officers, for any losses, damages or costs (including reasonable legal costs and expenses) reasonably incurred by us or HouseApps Limited in connection with a third party claim arising as a result of your unlawful use of the app, your breach of these Terms or your infringement of any third party rights. This does not limit your non-excludable rights as a consumer.
13. Termination
You can stop using HouseRoster and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect users or the service. On termination, your right to use the app ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity) continue to apply.
14. Assignment
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours (for example, as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business).
15. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in full effect.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will give reasonable notice (for example, in the app or by email) and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the new Terms. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept them.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
